SSC question leak: 2 held in Chittagong
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two members of an organized gang involved with question paper leaks in Jagannath Bazar area under Raozan upazila, Chittagong. After conducting an overnight drive on Sunday, the elite force arrested the duo identified as Md Imran, 18, and Nurul Afsar Sabuj, 20. Both are residents of Raozan upazila. During primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they got involved with a question leak group on Facebook on February 3. The duo then got involved in some other groups through different social media platforms. Later, they became close with the admins of the groups and got access to leaked question papers. Then they distributed the leaked question papers of the ongoing SSC and equivalent exams on the internet and received money from the students via bKash. Until the filing of this report, RAB was verifying the information provided by the arrestees. They are also being interrogated for further information regarding the gangs involved with question paper leak. “This gang is also involved with question paper leak of some other examinations. We are trying to arrest the other members of the organized gangs. Legal procedures are underway against the arrestees,” said Mimtanur Rahman, senior assistant director (media) of RAB 7. Earlier on Saturday, the Detective Branch of police arrested 14 people from different areas in Dhaka in connection with question leaks.
