Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three people with 1,424 bottles of phensedyl on Wednesday morning from the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.
The detainees, Janaal Abedin, Sajib Hossain and Abdur Rahim, are residents of Jessore.
RAB 2 Operation Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Firoz Kawser confirmed the matter.
He said the drug peddlers brought phensedyl from the Benapole border and would sell it in the city.
"Acting on a tip-off, our detective team conducted a raid in the area on Wednesday when the peddlers were on their way to enter the city. We found 1,426 bottles of phensedyl behind the driver’s sit in a toolbox when we stopped and searched the truck,” he added.
During the primary interrogation, the detainees confessed to their crime.
The RAB official further said they would take legal action against the three.
