Two suspected members of New JMB held
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two suspected members of a new faction of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (New JMB) from Dhaka. Arif Hossain and Romiz Uddin were arrested from Khilgaon and Mugda areas on Saturday. Commanding officer (CO) of RAB 11 Kamrul Hasan said: “Acting on a tip-off, members of RAB 11 arrested Arif from Khilgaon railway crossing area around 8:15pm while Romiz was arrested from Mugda area around 9:30pm. He said the arrestees are accused in a case filed with Rupganj police station in Narayanganj. According to RAB, Sarwar Jahan alias Abdur Rahman alias Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif was the chief of New JMB while Gulshan attack mastermind Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury was the second-in-command of the group.
