5 suspected JMB members held

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained five suspected members of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Narayanpur Digholbadh area in Habiganj district. The detainees are Hazi Abdul Kuddus, 50, Abul Kashem, 50, Abdur Nur, 45, Nazrul Islam, 45, and Ruhul Amin, 28. RAB Legal and Media Wing's Senior Assistant Director Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter on Monday morning. Habiganj Superintendent of Police Bidhan Tripura said: “Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB 9 conducted a drive in the area and detained them with jihadi books and leaflets on Sunday evening.” Habiganj sadar model police station Office-in-Charge (OC) Yasinul Hoque said: “A case has been filed against the detainees. They will be sent to the court in the afternoon.”
