Two firearms were seized from the possession of the detainees.Two alleged hijackers were shot during a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the Azimpur area of Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.
Law enforcement officials said a group including the two was attempting to hijack a car by providing false identities as members of police’s Detective Branch when the incident occurred.
The injured Mosarraf Hossain, 40, and Monir Hossain, 35, were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 4pm. Mosarraf sustained bullet injuries in his right thigh, while Monir was shot in his left thigh, said RAB 10 Commanding Officer Shahabuddin Khan.
