A team from the Special Task Force of Kolkata police (STF) has arrived in Dhaka, to exchange information about militant Sohel Mahfuz alias Hatkata Mahfuz, who is wanted in India for the 2014 Burdwan blast case.
The three-member team reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday morning.
Confirming the matter, Assistant Inspector General (Confidential) Md Moniruzzaman told the Dhaka Tribune that a meeting was held with the STF at the police headquarters regarding the militant. They then met with officials from the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.
The information so far received by interrogating the accused has been reviewed in the meeting, he added.

AIG Moniruzzaman further said that the officials from both countries also shared their experiences dealing with militant incidents in addition to information on Hatkata Mahfuz.
Mutual cooperation has been requested and assured from both parties in the meeting.
Earlier, Hatkata Mahfuz was arrested on July 8 from Chapainawabganj, during a joint drive by CTTC, Police Headquarters LIC, Bogra and Chapainawabganj police.
On October 2, 2014, an accidental explosion in a house in Khagragarh area of Burdwan, West Bengal killed two people and critically injured another.
The two dead were identified as Shovan Mandal and Shakil Ahmed, also known as Ghazi. The injured man was identified as Abdul Halim, also known as a Hasan Saheb.
Hatkata Mahfuz is wanted in connection with the incident.
