A court on Saturday placed Mokarram and Mizan on 7-day remand, two accused in a case filed for raping two young girls in Savar of Dhaka on Thursday.
Sub-Inspector Shaheed Suhrawardy of Savar Model police station said the two accused were produced before the court in the morning seeking 7-day remand.
The court passed the order.
Police could not yet arrest Liton Ali Mondol, the main accused of the case, he said.
According to police sources, two girls had allegedly been raped by a Detective Branch (DB) informer Liton Ali Mondol and his some associates including Mokarram and Mizan after being called up on promise that they will get the scope of becoming models.
According to the victims, Liton and his associates raped them at gunpoint at Legend College of Sobhanbagh Moholla in Savar municipal area on Thursday evening.
Relatives of the victims alleged the rapists confined the victims in an office room and raped them till midnight one after another.
Hearing screams, locals broke into the college building and rescued the girls while Liton and his associates managed to flee from the scene.
Later, police went to the scene and took charge of the victims.
The police arrested two security guards of the building, said AFM Sayed, OC of DB North.
A case was filed with Savar Model police station in this connection, he added.
