Four suspected members of a new faction of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (New JMB) have been detained from Durgapur and Puthia upazila of Rajshahi district.
The detainees are Aslam, 37, Mohammad Ali, 30, Babu Hujur, 28, and Abul Kashem Rokon, 38.
Police detained them with sharp weapons and jihadi books in a night long drive on Thursday.
Confirming the matter, Additional Superintendent of Police Sumit Chowdhury said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted the drive in the area and detained the New JMB members.”
He said a case will be filed against the detainee.
