Two suspected members of Sarwar-Tamim’s New JMB faction held

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained two suspected members of a new faction of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (New JMB) from Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district. One of the detainee is Imraan Ahmed, Dawat-e-ameer of the banned militant outfit’s Dhaka Metropolitan (West) unit. RAB Legal and Media Wing's Senior Assistant Director Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune Sunday morning. He said they were detained with firearms and bomb-making materials Saturday night. Details regarding the matter will be disclosed in a press briefing later in the day. According to RAB, Sarwar Jahan alias Abdur Rahman alias Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif was the chief of New JMB while Gulshan attack mastermind Tamim was the second-in-command of the group.
