Municipal councillor held with yaba in Bogra

Police have arrested a Bogra municipal councillor for possession of 60 yaba tablets at his residence in Kanpur, Bogra on Thursday. Abdul Matin is the municipal councillor of ward no. 5. He is also the municipal unit Awami League joint secretary. Tipped off by a local source, Shinganj police conducted the drive on Wednesday at 10pm. Officer-in-Charge Kamruzzaman Mia said: “Abdul Matin had been dealing yaba tablets in Bogra city, Kahalu and in the neighbouring upazilas for a long time, and is a listed drug dealer." After a narcotics case was filed by the police, Abdul was presented at the court and sent to jail on Thursday. The Shibganj OC said that Abdul had previously been arrested by police and RAB.
