Militant Abu’s father-in-law among 2 arrested

Update : 06 Jun 2017, 02:47 AM
The Detective Branch (DB) of police on Monday arrested two suspected militants including the dead militant Abu Ali’s father-in-law Ruhul Amin from Shibganj upazila, Chapainawabganj. The other detainee is 24-year-old Al Amin, son of Ataur Rahman, from the district’s Gomostapur upazila. Confirming that Ruhul Amin, 55, is Abu’s father-in-law, DB Inspector Mahbub Alam said they arrested the duo tracking their mobile phone numbers at Monkosha Bazar around 1am. Sources in police said Al Amin worked as an aide of Dhaka terror attack mastermind Tamim Chowdhury. Ruhul Amin was sent to jail after Shibganj police filed a seven-day remand petition for him in a separate case. Meanwhile, Al Amin was put on a three-day remand in an explosive case as Nachole police sought seven days to interrogate him. Earlier in April, four militants including Abu blew themselves up at a militant hideout in Shibnagar, Shibganj upazila during the anti-militant raid titled “Operation Eagle Hunt”.
