Bhola teacher held for abusing child

A seven-year-old madrasa girl has been abused sexually by her teacher in Bhola town. Md Shahabuddin, 22, son of late Fazle Hossain from the same area, was arrested on Wednesday night, hours after the assault. An honours student at a local college, Shahabuddin was serving as a part-time teacher at Hosainia Pre-Cadet Madrasa. According to police and locals, Shahabuddin molested the girl in his room after class and threatened her not to disclose the incident. The family members called Shahabuddin at their home after she revealed the incident. But the culprit tried to settle the matter. Later locals gave him a good beating on the madrasa premises. Police arrested him around 10pm. The madrasa authorities filed a case again him the same night. During interrogation, Shahabuddin told the police that he just beat up the girl as she had not prepared her lessons.
