Police have arrested the Pabna regional commander of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
Mostafizur Rahman Shahin, 41, was nabbed from the town's court area early Tuesday.
Pabna sadar OC Abdur Razzak said they raided the area acting on a tip-off and arrested Mostafizur around 3am.
He said: “Mostafizur is JMB’s Pabna region commander and also an accused in a series of bomb blasts.”
On August 17, 2005, members of JMB blasted bombs systematically in 63 districts, including on the Narayanganj court premises and in the district administration’s office in Fatullah.

Earlier, police detained two JMB members – Shafikul Islam, 30, and Ziaul Karim Sujon, 32 – from Pabna town’s Radhanagar area during Sunday’s special raids.
