Drug dealer killed in Rajshahi 'gunfight'
A drug dealer has been killed in an alleged gunfight with police in Jahajghat area of Rajshahi City. The deceased, 32-year-old Afzal Hossain alias Faysal, was accused in several cases filed over drug peddling. Four police officials, including Motihar zone Assistant Commissioner Susanta Chandra Roy, were also injured in the 'gunfight' in the early hours of Monday. “Faysal fired on police when our team raided his house to seize illegal drugs," Motihar police OC Humayun Kabir told the Dhaka Tribune. In the ensuing skirmish, Faysal was injured. A pistol was later recovered from the spot. He was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, the OC added.
