Chuadanga farmer killed in bomb blast by robbers

The incident took place at Bilpara in the village around 2am Thursday, say local police. Physicians at the district hospital declared Nasir Uddin, 45, dead following his arrival with wounds while another named Liton was undergoing treatment there. Police said Nasir's family members started shouting for help sensing the presence of about 8-10 robbers behind their house around 1am. At one stage, the gang hurled a crude bomb at them, leaving Nasir critically injured. Besides, the robbers exploded more bombs to create a safe passage to escape as the villagers started encircling them, Leaving Liton injured. Soon after the incident, several police teams carried out drives in the nearby villages in search of the robbers, but their efforts ended in vain finally. Chuadanga acting superintendent of police Mohammad Belayet Hossain visited Liton in the hospital in the night and assured of arresting the robbers as early as possible.
