The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Meher Nigar Suchona granted the remand filed by Sayedur Rahman, inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC). The court asked CTTC to submit a report on January 17. Jebunnahar, 34, alias Shila alias Sumaiya, wife of Maj (retd) Zahidul Islam Murad who was killed during a raid in Rupnagar area of Dhaka and Trisha Moni, 22, alias Umme Ayesha, wife of Mainul Islam alias Abu Musa were the accused. Mariana Binte Jahid, one-and-a-half-year-old daughter of Jebunnahar, and Zurai Riya, four-month-old daughter of Trisha Moni, were also present at the court when the remand was granted. “CTTC Sub-Inspector Shahinur Islam filed the case against the 8 people on Sunday night,” Dakkhin Khan police OC Tapan Chandra Saha told the Dhaka Tribune on Monday. On Saturday, the CTTC conducted a raid at a house in Ashkona Purba Para area of Dhaka’s Dakkhin khan which led to the capture of two female militants and the rescue of three children. Two others were killed in the raid – a woman killing herself by detonating a suicide vest and a teenage boy whose cause of death remains unclear.
