Shihab was handed over to the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Police on Saturday noon for interrogation.
According to the police, he has been taken to a Detective Branch (DB) office.
One Ansar member was killed and three other security personnel at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport were injured when a person in a cleaner's uniform attacked them with a knife on November 6 evening.
Police arrested the perpetrator who identified himself as one Shihab.
Airport police Inspector (investigation) Azaz Shafique told the Dhaka Tribune that Shihab was admitted in Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after the incident.
On Saturday noon, the DMCH authority discharged Shihab.
A CTTC unit took him in for interrogation soon after.
CTTC has also taken over the investigation regarding this matter.
Inspector Shafique said: “Shihab will probably be produced before the court on Sunday and asked for remand.”
When asked if the case could be tied to militancy, a senior police official said: “Shihab has given confusing statements.
“He will be further interrogated and we will continue analysing the information to find out if he is involved with militancy in any way.”
