Khadiza's family informed this to the Bangla Tribune Friday afternoon at the hospital.
Khadiza's uncle Md Abdul Based said: “Neurosurgeon Dr AM Rezaus Sattar, who operated on her, has asked for more time to determine her condition.”
Square Hospital's Associate Medical Director Dr Mirza Nazimuddin, also consultant of medicine and critical care department, said: “A detailed briefing will be given on Khazida's condition tomorrow [Saturday] at 12pm.”
Meanwhile, Khadiza's brother Shahin said: “According to doctors, my sister's condition has neither improved nor deteriorated. However, they told me that she was seen moving her right leg.”
Khadiza, 23, an honours second-year student at Sylhet Government Women’s College, was attacked on Monday evening by Badrul Alam, fourth-year economics student at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) and a top leader of Chhatra League’s SUST wing, while she was on her way back home after taking an exam at Sylhet MC College exam centre.
Locals rescued severely wounded Khadiza and took her to Osmani Medical College Hospital, while others gave Badrul a good beating before handing him over to Shah Paran police station.
The victim was later transferred to Square Hospital in Dhaka on Tuesday where she underwent surgery and is currently on life support. Doctors put her in 72 hours of observation and said she had about 10% chance of survival.
