Kallyanpur militants buried at Jurain graveyard

Graveyard sources confirmed that the burial was completed around 2pm. “DMC had asked us to send ambulances to pick the bodies up,” said Shahabuddin Ahmed, duty officer at the Mugda office of Anjuman Mofidul. He added: “We had sent three vehicles to retrieve the bodies.” Inspector Jahangir, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP and MA Kamal, duty officer at Anjuman Mofidul received the bodies around 11:30am to take them to Jurain graveyard for burial in the afternoon. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan had earlier said that if the families did not claim the bodies, they would be handed over to Anjuman Mofidul.Law enforcement agencies carried out a raid in Kallyanpur on the night of 25 July. After a nail-biting night of gunfire and bombing, the CTTC ended the operation successfully with nine militants killed and one captured, while one police constable was injured. A major cache of weapons, explosives, and militant pamphlets were found in the den.On 22 Septmeber, the Gulshan attackers were also buried in Jurain by Anjuma Mufidul since their families did not claim the bodies.
