Four ABT men placed on 5-day fresh remand

A Chittagong court on Wednesday placed four active members of banned Islamic outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team on a five-day fresh remand in a case filed under the arms act with Sitakunda police station. They were produced before the court after completion of their four-day remand in another case. The remanded are Musayeb Ibn Omayer, 25, Faisal Hossen alias Shipon, 25, Khorshedul Alam, 31, and Rasel Md Islam, 41, said police sources. Of them, Musayeb is the bailtulmal secretary of the banned outfit and also an official of a RMG factory at CEPZ, police said. Chittagong District Court Inspector AHM Mohiur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune: “The four operatives were produced before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Shahidullah after completion of their four-day remand in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.” “Police sought a 10-day remand for the four ABT men in the case filed under the arms act. The court granted a five-day remand after the hearing”, said the inspector. On July 11, the four ABT men were placed on nine-day remand in two phases in a case filed under Anti-Terrorism Act with Sitakunda police station.
