A former female flight attendant of Qatar Airways has been found dead at her Dhaka home where she lived alone. Police said Humayra Jahan, 35, had died several days ago. The cause of her death could not be ascertained immediately. Humayra's decomposed body was found on the second floor of the house located on Indira Road in East Razabazar on Tuesday afternoon. Sher-e-Bangla police OC GG Biswas said they have detained her former boyfriend Tushar and the building's security guard for questioning. She quit Qatar Airways in 2008 and has been living on her own since then. She had also gotten divorced in 2008. Her father Ahmedul Islam Chowdhury said Humayra had asthma and they would not file a case. Her elder brother Kamrul Hasan Sumon called police after he smelled a stench emanating from Humayra's room, which was locked from the inside.
OC Biswas said they found the body lying on the floor after they broke into the flat.
Police said she had blood stains on her mouth and nose. The body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
