A Khulna court has issued an arrest warrant against SM Golam Kibria, a former accountant of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) in a case filed over alleged embezzlement of over Tk1 crore.
Metropolitan Special Sessions Judge Md Shahidul Islam issued the warrant on Tuesday, said Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) lawyer Khandaker Mujibur Rahman.
He said the court also ordered to confiscate his household assets if the law enforcers cannot find and arrest him.
According to the case statement, Kibria embezzled large amounts of government money when he worked at the Civil Surgeon's Office and at KMCH.
On January 31 this year, ACC Deputy Assistant Director Faysal Kader had filed the case against Kibria for allegedly acquiring and concealing assets worth nearly Tk1.12 crore illegally.
