The man is accused in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act
A Dhaka court on Wednesday sent Junayed Karim Jimmy, the costume designer of Dhallywood star Pori Moni to jail, rejecting his bail plea and the police’s remand petition in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah passed the order after Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials produced him before the court, seeking on five-day fresh remand for further interrogation.
Jimmy’s defence counsel Khalilur Rahman had submitted a petition seeking bail for him and rejection of the police’s remand plea.
The court rejected both petitions after the hearing and sent Jimmy to jail.
