RAB arrested the duo from Dhaka on Sunday night
A Dhaka court on Monday placed alleged fraudster Dr Ishrat Rafique Eshita and her accomplice Shahidul Islam Didar each on six-day remand.
Shah Ali police station started two cases against the duo on charges of swindling people with forged certificates and achievements, and for possession of narcotics.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ashek Imam ordered the remand after police produced the duo in court seeking 10-day remand for each.
Defence counsels moved bail petitions, but the court turned them down after hearing.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Dr Eshita, a doctor, and her accomplice from the capital’s Mirpur area on Sunday night.
According to law enforcers, Eshita used to swindle people through false identities, and fake national and international awards.
She also used to introduce herself as a brigadier general, despite never joining any defense forces, in a bid to con people, according to the elite police unit.
