The victim’s father filed the case the same day she was raped and murdered
A Dhaka court on Sunday asked the police to submit the investigation report in the case filed over the rape and murder of an O level student in Kalabagan area of Dhaka, within April 7.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yeasmin Ara fixed the date after accepting the petition filed by Kalabagan police station Inspector AFM Asaduzzaman, also the investigation officer of the case.
On January 7, the law enforcers recovered the body of the 17-year-old victim from a city hospital and arrested the accused Fardin Iftekhar Dihan and three others in this connection.
Later, the victim’s father lodged the case against Dihan on the night of the incident.
On January 9, law enforcers released three others after interrogation over the matter.
The victim had gone to a friend’s house in Kalabagan for group study, her family said.
Dihan, who is believed to have raped and killed her at his family flat in Kalabagan area, gave a confessional statement before a Dhaka court.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid recorded the statement and sent him to jail pending a hearing.
Meanwhile, doctors found evidence of rape after an autopsy on the victim.
