Rape case: Investigation report against Nur, 5 others deferred to January 21

The court fixed a new date as the investigating officer of the case failed to submit the report

The date for filing the investigation report in the case filed over rape against former Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) vice president (VP) Nurul Haque Nur and five others has been pushed back to January 21.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara rescheduled the date as the investigation officer failed to submit the report within the deadline on Tuesday, reports Bangla Tribune.

On September 20, a DU student filed the case against Nur and five others with Lalbagh police station for allegedly abetting and raping her.

All of the accused in the cases are members and leaders of Bangladesh Students’ Rights Council and are current and former students of Dhaka University.

The other accused are Hasan Al Mamun, Nazmul Hasan Sohagh, Md Saiful Islam, Md Nazmul Huda, and Abdullah Hil Baki.

According to the case statement, the reported rape incident took place on January 3, 2020, when the prime accused Hasan Al Mamun, convener of the independent student body, allegedly raped the victim.
