A DU student filed several cases against Nur over charges of rape, character assassination and other crimes
A Dhaka court on Sunday set January 5 to submit a probe report in a case lodged under Digital Security Act (DSA) against former vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur.
Judge As-Shams Jaglul Hossain of Bangladesh Cyber Crime Tribunal passed the order as investigation agency Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) failed to submit the probe report on Sunday, court clerk Shamim Al Mamun said.
The tribunal on October 14 ordered PBI to investigate the case and submit their report by Sunday.
The student of Dhaka University, who has already filed several cases against Nur and member of his anti-quota movement, for rape, character assassination and other crimes, filed the case under section 25/29/31 of Digital Security Act.
The plaintiff in her statement accused Nur for making a defamatory and insulting statement about her by branding her characterless by coming on Facebook live.
