A court has fixed November 30 for framing charges in two cases against expelled Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat for possessing illegal arms and narcotics.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayes passed the order on Tuesday after taking charge sheets in the two cases into cognizance.
Additional Public Prosecutor Tapas Kumar Pal confirmed the matter.

The hearing was held in presence of the expelled Juba League leader, well known for illegally running a casino business in the country.
After he was taken to the court premises around 10am, scores of his followers gathered carrying placards and demanding his release.
After court proceedings, Samrat was remanded under court custody.
Earlier on October 7, 2019, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed the two cases against Samrat, a day after the elite force detained him and his accomplice Dhaka South unit Jubo League Vice President Enamul Haque Arman from Comilla’s Chauddagram upazila.

On November 6, 2019, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Sub-Inspector (SI) Shekhar Chandra Mandal submitted a charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka against Samrat in a case filed under the Arms Act.
On December 9, 2019, RAB SI Abdul Halim submitted another charge sheet against the expelled Jubo League leader and his aide Enamul Haq Arman to the same court in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
