A mobile court on Wednesday sealed off a private diagnostic centre in the Jordan road area of Barisal town after it reportedly issued a pathology test report containing the signature of a dead physician.
The mobile court, led by the district administration, also sentenced a physician and two owners of the Central Medical Services to six months’ imprisonment each.
The convicts are AK Chowdhury and Jashim Uddin Milon, owners of the centre, and its physician Nur-e Sarwar Saikat.
Ziaur Rahman, an executive magistrate at the deputy commissioner's office, said the mobile court raided the diagnostic centre with RAB personnel at around 8pm.
They found that a woman had been provided with a pathology test report bearing the signature of a deceased physician. The signatory died on July 19 in a Dhaka hospital.
Besides, another physician had some false degrees mentioned on his prescription form, said the magistrate.
Later, the court handed down the punishment.
