The case was filed out of vengeance as they got divorced on November 17, the magistrate says
A case has been filed against an executive magistrate for reportedly demanding dowry from his newlywed wife.
Farzana Khanam, wife of assistant commissioner Md Masudur Rahman, filed the case with the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Monday, reports UNB
Following the case, the court summoned Masudur of the Chittagong district administration to appear before it on January 29.

According to the case statement, following love affairs, Masudur married Farzana three months ago and kept it secret to others, including their relatives.
Two months after their marriage, Masudur demanded Tk50 lakh from his wife on November 29 and threatened to discard her if she fails to pay the money.
Meanwhile, Masudur said he already divorced Farzana on November 17 and she filed the case out of vengeance.
