A Barguna court on Thursday postponed the date for framing charges against the 10 adults accused in the Rifat Sharif murder case to January 1.

As on Thursday was the earlier determined as the date for framing charges, the eight accused were brought from Barguna district jail to the District and Sessions Judge Court. After hearing the sides of both the defendant and the plaintiff, the court set January 1 for framing the charges against them.
Ayesha Siddika Minni, Rifat's widow, who is currently on bail, was also present in the courtroom.
Mojibur Haq Kislu, the plaintiff’s lawyer, confirmed the news saying: "on Friday (November 28) a hearing took place regarding the charge framing (Rifat murder case). All the accused except fugitive Md Musa were present in the court.
"The court rejected the bail petitions of accused Mohaiminul Islam Sifat and Md Sagar," added Mojibur.
The adults accused of the case are Rifat Faraji, 23, Al Kaiyum alias Rabbi Akan, 21, Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, 19, Rezwan Ali Khan Hridoy alias Tiktok Hridoy, 22, Md Hasan, 19, Md Musa, 22, Ayesha Siddika Minni, 19, Rafiul Islam Rabbi, 20, Md Sagar, 19, and Kamrul Hasan Saymun, 21.
On June 26, Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by criminals in broad daylight in front of Barguna Government College. He was immediately taken to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the evening.
