The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal has found evidence of war crimes against three people, including two Awami League members from Jhenaidah.

Of the trio, two--Md Abdur Rashid Miah, 66, and Md Saheb Ali Malitha, 68 -- were arrested on October 22.

The tribunal did not disclose the name of the third accused, currently at large, for the sake of investigation.

According to the investigators, Abdur and Saheb were involved with Jamaat-e-Islami during the 1971 Liberation War, but currently they are members of Awami League. Of them, Rashid is also a Union Parishad chairman from the ruling party.

The agency has brought charges of detention, abduction, torture and murder against the trio.

The investigation agency unveiled the probe report in a press conference held in Dhanmondi, which was attended by Agency’s Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Khan, and Co-Coordinator Sanaul Hoque.

Investigation Officer Abdur Razzak Khan began the probe against the three Awami League members on June 27, 2016. The report will be submitted to the tribunal later in the day.
