At least 25 people died and 73 others were injured in FR Tower fire on March 28

The Supreme Court has asked the three accused to surrender before the lower court concerned within seven days in a case filed for forgery over the design of FR Tower in Dhaka’s Banani.

A four member Appellate Division bench, headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, passed a no order on their appeal against the High Court's order on Monday.

Earlier, the three accused filed a petition with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court against the High Court order that stayed their bail petition.

On November 5, the High Court stayed the bail petitions of the three accused and asked them to surrender before the lower court concerned in seven days.

The accused are FR Tower land owner Syed Md Hossain Imam Faruque, Rajuk’s former inspector Md Aurangzeb Siddique Nannu and its former deputy director (estate) Md Sawkat Ali.

The bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam handed down the stay order after hearing three separate bail petitions.

A Dhaka court granted them bail in August and September in connection with the case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC filed a case with Gulshan Police Station against the three accused on charges of irregularities over the design of FR Tower and violating the building code in constructing the high-rise building.

At least 25 people died and 73 others were injured in a devastating fire on March 28 at the building.
