The Court fixed Nov 20 as the hearing date
The High Court has warned that, if it is proven that the image of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was distorted on the calendar of Jashore University of Science and Technology, action will be taken against those responsible.
The bench of justices FRM Nazmul Ahasan and KM Kamrul Kade made the comments on Monday while the VC, registrar and public relations official of the university offered their unconditional apologies.
The Court fixed Nov 20 as the hearing date.
Earlier, a writ was filed by Jashore upazila vice chairman Md Anwar Hossain for the distortion of images of Bangabandhu and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the calendar of Jashore University of Science and Technology.
Following the High Court order, a committee was formed with an additional secretary of the ministry of education as the convener.
The committee found that, on the calendar, the VC’s name was placed above the name of Bangabandhu, and pictures of the prime minister and Bangabandhu were incorrectly bound and inappropriately set up.
