Majed was placed on five-day remand on October 12, following his arrest from Uttara Sector No 14 that day
A Dhaka court on Friday sent to jail Majedur Rahman Majed, an accused in the case filed over Buet student Abrar Fahad’s murder, when police produced him after completion of his five-day remand.
Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder passed the order as case investigation officer and Detective Branch Inspector Md Wahiduzzaman produced Mazed before the court and pleaded to keep him behind bars, reports BSS.
Majed was placed on five-day remand on October 12, following his arrest from Uttara Sector No 14 that day.
Buet students and the university authorities found seemingly lifeless body of Abrar, 22, in critical condition from first-floor stairs of Sher-e-Bangla Hall and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the early hours of October 7. Doctors there declared him dead around 6:30am.
Some leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s Buet chapter are accused of beating the second-year EEE student to death over his alleged ties to Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Abrar’s father filed the murder case at Chawkbazar Police Station against 19 people later that day.
