Anik is one of the 19 accused in the Abrar Fahad murder case
Anik Sarker, another accused in Abrar Fahad murder case, has given his confessional statement in front of a judicial magistrate.
He gave the statement before Md Atiqul Islam of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court on Saturday.
After hearing his confession, the magistrate sent him to jail.
Investigation officer of the case, Inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) of police Wahiduzzaman produced Anik before the court.
Earlier on October 8, Anik was placed on a five-day remand.
Anik, was the information and research affairs secretary of Buet Chhatra League unit, and one of the 19 people accused in Abrar murder case.
Earlier, DB Inspector Md Wahiduzzaman, also the case's investigation officer, produced Zion before the court.
After recording his statement, the court sent Zion to jail.
At least nine members of Buet unit Chhatra League have been detained in connection with the murder of Abrar Fahad, a second year student of the university.
Of the detainees, Meftahul Islam Zion, sports secretary of Buet Chhatra League, gave his confessional statement on Friday.
Abrar, of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, was beaten to death inside the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of Monday.
Some Chhatra League leaders have been accused of beating him to death for his alleged involvement with Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Abrar's father filed a murder case against 19 people at Chawkbazar police station on Monday evening. As of Friday, 18 people have been detained in connection with the case.
