All the accused were present in the courtroom during the verdict. The convicts have been sent to Rajshahi Jail.

Public Prosecutor Entazul said the case was transferred to the speedy trial tribunal from District Judge's Court for a speedy settlement in April this year.

There were a total of 51 witnesses to the case. Among them, 47 testified before the court.

Later, on September 11, after hearing the arguments from both sides, the judge fixed Wednesday to announce the verdict of the case.

The victim Aklima Begum, 45, of Deula village in Bagmara upazila had a dispute with her brother-in-law Abul Hossain, the main accused in the case.

On November 24, 2014, Abul and the other convicts slaughtered Aklima and her 25-year-old son Zahid Hasan, at their house.

The victim's eldest son Dulal Hossain filed a case with Bagmara police station over the murder.

The case changed hands many times before the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) finally  took charge of the investigation.

On May 31 last year, PBI Inspector Alamgir Hossain pressed charges against the seven convicts in court.
