The court declared illegal the process of suspending business of Bangladeshi apparel factories by Alliance
The High Court has observed companies established by Bangladesh nationals in the country will be recognized as its citizens.
The High Court bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal came up with the observation on Monday.
The court, however, declared illegal the process of suspending business of Bangladeshi apparel factories by Alliance, the platform of North American fashion brands and retailers.
The bench delivered the verdict after hearing a writ petition filed by BHIS Apparels Ltd, a Bangladeshi company, challenging the Alliance's decision to suspend the business of the company.
Barrister Imtiaz Moinul Islam stood for the writ petitioner.
He said the court also directed to devise new safety regulations of garment factories to develop relationship with the Alliance.
