Judge fixed July 9 for next hearing of the case
A Feni court has accepted the chargesheet against sacked Sonagazi madrasa Principal SM Sirajuddaula in the sexual assault case of madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, and shifted the lawsuit to the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal for quick disposal.
Senior Judicial Magistrate of Feni Zakir Hossain passed the order on Thursday as the case was filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, said Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, and Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI)Inspector Md Shah Alam.
Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Mamunur Rashid has fixed July 9 for the hearing of the case, reports BSS.
On July 3, PBI Inspector Md Shah Alam submitted the chargesheet against SM Sirajuddaula, sacked principal of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa.
Nusrat Jahan Rafi’s mother filed the case against Siraj-ud-Daula over the alleged sexual assault on March 27.
18-year-old Nusrat was set on fire on the rooftop of the madrasa at Sonagazi on April 6, allegedly for refusing to withdraw the sexual assault case filed against Sirajuddaula.
Nusrat lost her battle for life on April 10.
