Four BNP men sent to jail in Rangpur

The court has denied bail of four BNP leaders including Rangpur district BNP's General Secretary Raich Ahammed and four other leaders in three cases including a case on vandalism.

Rangpur Public Prosecutor (PP) Abdul Malek Advocate has said that the court issued an arrest warrant against district BNP general secretary Raich Ahammad, Carmichael College Chhatra Dal president Rabiul Islam, Metropolitan secretary Sumon, BNP leader Apel and other convicts. 

The judge after the hearing where these four convicts appreared in court and appealed for bail, which was refused and later sent to the jail under police escort. 

On the other hand, metropolitan BNP general secretary Shanidul Islam Miju has complained that government is filing false cases against BNP's sister organization's leaders and activists and jailing them. 

Advocate for the convicts  Aftab Hossain has said that the convicts came to the court on their own volition and appealed for bail. The court denied that request and sent them to jail.

Many leaders and activists of BNP crowded in the court square when the news of district BNP general secretary Raich Ahammad's arrival on the court spread. 

A large number of police were stationed in the court premises in the anticipation of commotion. However, no unpleasant incidents took place.
