A Dhaka court has set July 7 for submitting a probe report in the case filed over the deadly inferno at FR Tower in Banani.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debdas Chandra Adhikari set the date as the investigation officer failed to submit the report on Wednesday, reports BSS.
A total of 26 people were killed and 73 others were injured in the fire that quickly engulfed the 22-storey building on Kamal Ataturk Avenue in Banani on March 28.
Banani Police Box in-charge Sub-inspector Milton Dutta filed the case on March 30 with Banani police station.
The accused in the case are Tasvir Ul Islam, one of the owners of FR Tower, SMHI Faruque, the land owner, and Liyakat Ali Khan Mukul, chairman of Rupayon Group, the company that built the high-rise.
They are also accused of collusion in causing loss of lives, severe injuries, and damage to property in the fire caused by severe negligence.
