The man is the instigator of the attack that claimed Alim examinee Nusrat's life
Suspended Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa Principal Sirajuddaula has been remanded for two days in the sexual harassment case filed by Nusrat Jahan Rafi's mother.
On Wednesday, Sirajuddaula was produced before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Zakir Hossain, which granted police two days to interrogate him further.
"Police Bureau of Investigation asked for a seven-day remand for further questioning in the case filed by Nusrat's mother on March 27. But the court granted two days," said PBI official and Nusrat murder case Investigation Officer Md Shah Alam.
"So far PBI has interrogated 21 people in a murder case, while 12 people have been charged," he added.
On April 6, Alim examinee Nusrat was set on fire on the roof of the madrasa at Sonagazi by Sirajuddaula's followers.
Nusrat suffered 80% burns and later died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The 18-year-old was attacked after she refused to withdraw the sexual harassment case against Sirajuddaula.
Her family filed another case on April 8 against eight people, including Sirajuddaula, for the attack on Nusrat. That case was accepted as a murder case after her death.
