A petition has been filed with the High Court challenging the legality of military trials under martial law during Ziaur Rahman’s regime.
Supreme Court lawyer, Advocate Matiur Rahman, filed the writ with the High Court on behalf of 88 aggrieved families.
The writ also sought High Court directives to compensate the families of victims of military trials during Ziaur Rahman’s time.
“Awami League’s advisory panel member, Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, will argue the case for the petitioners,” said Rahman.
The petition will be brought before the High Court division bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader, he added.
