Chamber judge has sent the case to the Appellate Division

The Supreme Court chamber judge has stayed the proceedings of the Jahalam case in High Court till May 13.

Chamber Judge Justice Md Nuruzzaman delivered the stay order on Tuesday and sent the petition to Appellate Division's full court bench, after hearing a plea filed by the Anti corruption commission (ACC).

Advocate Kurshid Alam Khan stood for ACC in the petition.

After the court order, the lawyer told the press that the ACC’s appeal was based on the grounds that the High Court bench that was dealing with case, does not have jurisdiction to hear such suo moto rules.

“There is a bench for hearing ACC's case at the High Court,” he said.
