The two suspected rapists have been placed on remand for four days

Two suspected rapists from Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali have been placed on a four-day remand.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Nabanita Guho issued the order after a hearing on Sunday.

The men allegedly raped a sixth-grade schoolgirl from Purbacharbata union of the upazila.

The suspects are: Israfil Azad Shapan, 23, son of Tayieb Miah, and Nizam, 22, son of Chan Miah.

Charjabbar police station OC, Ibrahim Khalil, said: “We presented the suspects to the court requesting a five-day remand. But the court issued a four-day remand after the hearing.”

A sixth-grade schoolgirl, age 13, was gang-raped on January 31.

The victim came home on Friday morning and told her family about the rape.

Later, the two were arrested in a rape case filed by the victim’s older brother at the Charjabbar police station on February 1.
