Adnan’s father Kabir Hossain lodged a case with Uttara West Police Station over his murder, naming nine people and accusing 10-12 unidentified others
A Dhaka court has postponed the submission date of the probe report on Uttara schoolboy Adnan’s murder to July 11 after the investigating officer failed to submit it on time.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury postponed the submission date on Thursday, reports Bangla Tribune.
On January 6, the local teenage gang Disco Boys attacked the members of Nine Star. Adnan, a Nine Star member, was assaulted during the incident. The critically injured schoolboy was rushed to Uttara’s Lubana General Hospital, where he died.
Adnan’s father Kabir Hossain lodged a case with Uttara West Police Station naming nine people and accusing 10-12 unidentified others in this regard.
According to police, Uttara’s “gang-culture” had become the bane of the youth there. Groups like Nine Star, Disco Boys, and Big Boss initially harassed girls, threw parties, and sped through the area on motorbikes while honking their horns. Eventually, however, they became entangled in rivalries among themselves.
The case is currently under investigation by Uttara West police station Inspector Md Abdur Razzaq.
