The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) will deliver its judgment any day against four suspects for committing crimes against humanity in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar district during the 1971 Liberation War.
After concluding the hearing on the arguments from both sides on Tuesday, the three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam kept the verdict pending.
The other members of the bench are Justice Amir Hossain and Justice Abu Ahmed Jamadar.
The four accused are Akmal Ali Talukdar, Abdur Nur Talukdar alias Lal Miah, Anis Miah and Abdul Mosabbir Miah. Of them, Akmal is now in jail while the others remain absconding.
All of them were accused of committing genocide, murder, abduction and torture carried out in Panchgaon and Paschimbhag villages in Rajnagar upazila between May 7 and November 24 in 1971.
On May 7, 2017, the tribunal had framed charges against them.
Prosecutor Syed Haider Ali said they had proved all the allegations brought against the four and demanded capital punishment for all.
On November 26, 2015, the ICT issued warrants for the arrest of the four war crimes suspects.
