Plot against Joy: Probe report on March 6

A Dhaka court has fixed March 6 for submitting the investigation report in a case filed over an alleged plot to “abduct and kill” the prime minister's son and her ICT advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy in the US. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sorafuzzaman Ansari set the fresh date as Hasan Arafat, the investigation officer of the case and also a Senior Assistant Police Commissioner of Detective Branch, failed to submit the report on Sunday. The submission of the probe report on the plot against Joy, also Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ICT advisor, has already been delayed a number of times. Earlier on August 3 in 2015, inspector Fazlur Rahman of the Detective Branch filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station accusing several people of the plot. Journalist Shafik Rehman and Vice-President of Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas), a pro-BNP organization, Mohammad Ullah Mamun, were accused in the case.The article was first published on banglatribune.com
