Youth remanded for giving death threat to US ambassador
A Dhaka court has placed a youth on a two-day remand in a case filed for giving death threat to US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat on social media platform Facebook. Dhaka metropolitan Magistrate Sharafuzzaman Ansari passed the order on Monday. Earlier in the day, Sub-Inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police Patho Chatterjee produced Sujon Kumar before the court with a four-day remand plea. The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested 25-year-old Sujon from Natore on December 31. According to the case filed with Ramna police station, Sujon gave death threat to the US Ambassador to Bangladesh using the Facebook account named Hasan Ruhani. Besides, the account was also used to make provocative comments in several occasions.
