The lawyer for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia concluded the defence argument in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on Wednesday.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case in 2008 against six people, including Khaleda and her eldest son Tarique Rahman, for allegedly misusing Tk2.1 crore from the funds of the Zia Orphanage Trust.
On Wednesday, Advocate Abdur Rezzak Khan placed his closing arguments before the Dhaka Special Court 5 at Alia Madrasa premises in Bakshibazar.
Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of the makeshift court adjourned the argument hearing for the day, and ordered the rest of the argument to be placed on Thursday.
The BNP chief - who arrived at the court at around 11.15am - also appeared before the court in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case filed by the ACC in 2011.
In this case, the ACC accused the BNP chief and three others of misappropriating Tk3.15 crore from the Zia Charitable Trust Fund.
